As the Director of Human Resources for Laguna View Detox my role is to oversee the human resource functions in areas including but not limited to: recruitment, hiring and retention, selection of benefits,corrective action, maintenance of personnel files, and compliance practices required by our licensing agencies. A lot of my day to day time is spent researching ways to plan, coordinate, and implement procedures that impact employee satisfaction and streamline processes. It is important to me to make sure our employees have a comprehensive benefit package, PTO plan and a simple payroll and HR platform to use to access their benefits and other pertinent employee information. I also work closely with the program director, management staff and employees to support and provide effective solutions to any number of issues that may arise throughout the day.
My professional background mostly consists of Sales and Marketing. I went to school at The University of Montana and have a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Studies. I did a complete career change about ten years ago and decided to go back to school and get an Associates Degree in the field of Alcohol and Drug studies which enabled me to become a Certified Addiction Treatment Counselor. I have always been passionate about helping people that struggle with addiction issues and began working in this field as a crisis counselor in the admissions department then Business development and now Human Resources.
I love working for Laguna View Detox because I believe in our team and the quality of care that we provide, we have nurses, a full time therapist, case managers, a program director, director of operations and support staff all to take care of our valued clients. Our medical director and his staff are excellent and specialize in addiction medicine. I personally have to believe in the program I work for to have job satisfaction.
Professionally, I am passionate about providing a positive work environment and solutions for our employees. I also love knowing that our main objective is to help people struggling with addiction on their path to recovery, that is a mission I definitely feel strongly about supporting.
Personally, I am passionate about my six year old son and creating the best life possible for him. I love spending quality time with my family and traveling. I believe life is an Adventure and I always look forward to experiencing what will happen next!
